How this little site treats your data
This website, Feathers, Sequins, Timing, is run by me, Monique Fabre, as an independent notebook at moulin-rouge-tickets-online.com. I am the person responsible for personal data here. I am not a corporation with a data protection officer in a glass office. If that sounds informal, it is because the site is informal. The law still applies.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation — GDPR, the European rule that actually has teeth — you have the right to know what I hold, to correct it, to ask me to erase it, and to complain to your national data protection authority if I behave badly. In France that authority is the CNIL. I would rather you emailed me first, at [email protected], with the word privacy in the subject.
What I actually collect
If you only read the pages, my hosting company will log the usual technical crumbs: an IP address, a browser type, the time, the page you asked for. Those logs exist to keep the server from falling over and to notice attacks. I do not sell them. I do not build a portrait of you from them. If you send me an email, I have whatever you typed, for as long as the conversation is useful, then I delete the thread the way I used to throw out a call sheet after the season.
What advertising cookies do
Some visitors arrive because I paid a search engine to show a small advertisement next to results about seats, dress, or the evening on the hill. To know whether that advertisement was a waste of money, the advertising system may set a cookie — a small file in your browser — that remembers you clicked the ad, or that you later visited this site. That is the whole trick. It does not listen to the show. It does not read your bank. It does not tell me your name. It tells a machine whether an ad led to a page view.
You can refuse advertising cookies in your browser settings, or through the search engine’s own ad settings. The site will still work. The sentences will still be mine. If a banner asks you to choose, choose honestly; I would rather a smaller audience than a tricked one.
What I do not do
I do not sell lists. I do not run a ticket checkout on this white site. I do not ask for a card number to read an essay. Third-party tools that measure visits, if they are present, are there to count pages, not to follow you around Paris. If that changes, this page will change, because a privacy note that lies is worse than no note.
Legal basis, for the people who like the vocabulary: legitimate interest in keeping a server running and in understanding whether my small ads are useless; consent where a cookie law requires a yes; contract if you email me and I reply. Retention: logs a few weeks, emails until the question is closed. Transfers: the host may store machines outside France; I choose providers who claim the standard European clauses because I am not in a position to invent a better treaty.
